Govt of Punjab has released new updated policy for induction in medical residency programs in the province. As per new policy research marks has been abolished and marks in the matric and intermediate examinations have been included to reward the hardworking students based on their educational background. Though foreign medical graduates and graduates of private medical colleges have a lot of questions regarding the new induction policy for medical residency but it seems most of the local graduates especially graduates of Govt. medical colleges are satisfied with the newly proposed medical residency induction policy. Remember, in Punjab there is uniform induction policy, in order to get medical residency in any Govt. hospital of the province of the Punjab, candidates have to apply through the central portal which usually opens in June-July and December-January. Merit will be calculated on basis of:
- Matriculation marks
- Intermediate Marks
- MBBS Marks
- Type of institute of Graduation (Whether Govt or private)
- Housejob from parent institute
- Experience Marks
- Position in the university
