HOW TO STUDY FOR 1ST YEAR MBBS ANNUAL EXAMINATION?

Hi guys, everyone knows how to study for their class tests and Stages that are held at their respective colleges. Lets talk about how to study for your annual MBBS Exams?

  • In Class tests and internal assessments the syllabus is usually short and you have enough time to prepare for that specific syllabus but that's not the case in annual exams. So here are the tips which will help you out in preparation of your annual exams:
  • Always plan your study schedule right after your prep. leaves.
  • Give more time to subject which you think is your weak point.
  • Give less time to the topic which you have already covered in keen details so don't waste your time i revising same thing again and again.
  • Topic which you get it mixed up or difficult to remember keep it for the last days
  • Always cover those chapters first that have maximum marks( E.g Gross anatomy from anatomy section) and prepare these topics thoroughly).
  • In each subject divide topic which have more and less marks. Cover those topics first that have more marks like in 1st year MBBS your first focus should be on gross anatomy then embryology then histology and then to general anatomy .
  • As the exam date moves closer your revision speed should be getting faster e.g if you have revised anatomy in 15 days for first time your second revision should only take 7 days and your last revision should take 4 days and on last night just before exams you should revise gross anatomy plus important questions of embryology, histology and general anatomy. Just before going to exams you should take a look at the histology diagrams and KLM clinicals.
  • Try to study all important topics from standard books e.g Anatomy from KLM or any other book + KLM clinicals Physiology important topics from Guyton and Biochemistry important topics from Harper or lippincott.
  • You should revise each book at least three time prior to your annual exams.
  • Always cover that subject first which is on top in date-sheet e.g mostly its anatomy so try to cover anatomy first then pick it one week before exams and in middle try to cover physiology and biochemistry.
  • You can also choose to study 2 subjects together if you get bored by one subject ( as I always get bore from one subject :P) , in this case you should one subject from morning to afternoon and from there pick another subject till midnight just before sleeping.
  • Remember, before sleeping take a quick revision of what you have studies the all day( it should only take 30 mins to 1 hour). Just try to focus those points which you think were difficult.
